Some very distressing new video shows dogs in China being literally skinned alive to make imitations of the trendy footwear.

The real Ugg boots are made of sheepskin. And, frankly, the sheep in Australia whose skins are used are not treated very well either.
So the best way to stay beautiful is probably to stay away from anything Ugg-ly.
