Bob Barker, former host of The Price is Right, has offered to cover the cost of transporting three elephants from the Toronto Zoo to a sanctuary in California.

Two months ago, the Toronto city council voted to send the female African elephants Toka, Thika and Iringa to a new home at the California sanctuary PAWS (Performing Animal Welfare Society).

Barker had helped spearhead the campaign to free the elephants, including hosting a press conferencein Toronto. Life at the PAWS sanctuary will include plenty of terrain to roam, lakes to bathe in, and barns equipped with heated stalls and therapeutic Jacuzzis.

“I want them to have the most efficient and humane transition to their new home,” Barker, now 88 years old, is quoted as saying on the PAWSwebsite. “I said this would not cost the city a penny and I want to assure them it won’t.”
