A new relationship with animals, nature and each other.

Dolphins Play

Dolphins at Play: Photographer Terry Whittaker has spent five years getting amazing pictures of dolphins at play in the ocean: racing each other, doing acrobatics, and playing with swimmers and kayakers.

One dolphin was so friendly, she even let people ride on her back. But conservationists ask people not to encourage this behavior. “Not only does it get them too used to human contact,” Whittaker said. “It also puts them at risk of getting hurt. They can be injured by passing boats or become tangled in fishing lines.”

There’s no substitute for seeing these amazing creatures in the wild. It’s a totally different experience from seeing them in a tank at a marine circus.
