Like a lolly. The egg of a lacewing sits on a long stalk. It is tiny and almost invisible to the naked eye. After it emerged from the egg, the larva balances down the stalk and molts for the first time. After 8 to 22 days hunting aphids (plant lice), it will be fully grown.
The international contest Fritz Pölking Award and Fritz Pölking Junior Award is annually presented as a part of the competition GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the year. It is hosted by the GDT / Society of German Nature Photographers and the Tecklenborg-Verlag.
