Julia Rescues a Bee
Julia rescued Lemon, a carpenter bee, five years ago, when she was eight years old. Lemon couldn’t fly, but, as Julia writes:
He lived for 3 months. A few times, it looked like he was dying, but I’d give him wet wood, honey and some different flowers from the yard and he’d come back around … He used to climb on me and seemed to like the attention I gave him.
