Bibi’s Amazing Rescue
This one happened several months ago, but the rescuer, 20-year-old Raden Soemawinata, still deserves a shout-out.
It begins with Sue Drummond, who’s walking her pooch, Bibi, a Maltese-shih tzu mix, on the Brighton Pier in Melbourne, Australia. It’s a windy day, and a sudden gust of wind simply blows the little dog off the pier.
Raden Soemawinata is on the pier, too. He’s come there to scatter the ashes of his grandmother into the bay.
And there’s also a photographer on the pier. Chris Scott is there doing a photo shoot for another story altogether. But everything comes to a halt as the folks on the pier all watch the delightful and heroic rescue unfold.
